Amount totals more than 1.6 million

Community Investment volunteers discuss funding amounts.

Butler County United Way will fund 57 human services programs for Butler County residents totaling more than 1.6 million dollars. BCUW's Board of Trustees, chaired by Deb Crane of Ohio Casualty, approved the funding amounts.
A citizen review team comprised of 50 volunteers made the funding decisions. The volunteers came from Butler County United Way's service area; including cities of Hamilton and Fairfield, and townships of Fairfield, Liberty, Morgan, Ross, St. Clair and West Chester. The volunteer team represents the business, banking, manufacturing, education, legal and faith sectors. They invested nearly 3,000 collective volunteer hours.
Jim Sell, Branch Manager of Rockwell Automation, served as chair of the Community Investment Division.
"The programs being funded this year have a significant impact on the community," said Jim Sell. "They were selected based on specific needs identified through a comprehensive priority setting method."
