"Ring"..."Ring"... Calling all Volunteers

Butler County United Way has several events planned for 2006. In order to make these events a success, we need the help of the great volunteers in Butler County. Below is a numbered list of some of the events coming up and how you can help volunteer:

1) Spring Day of Caring, sponsored by

100 volunteers are needed to participate in Butler County United Way's Spring Day of Caring on Friday, April 28. The event, sponsored by First Financial Bank, is one way for Butler County United Way to give back to the community.

"The purpose of Day of Caring is to bring a variety of people, companies and organizations together to help make the community a better place," said Maureen Noe, President/CEO of Butler County United Way." "Butler County United Way is committed to connecting volunteer resources with community needs."

The day begins with an 8:00 a.m. kickoff breakfast at Grace United Methodist Church, 1200 Main Street in Hamilton. From there, volunteers will report to various Day of Caring project locations throughout the county. Projects range from painting, landscaping and cleaning to helping work a festival for children.

BCUW Sponsorships Just a Click Away

BCUW Finalizes Funding Decisions
Allocation Announcement Coming at the End of April

The Butler County United Way's Community Investment Division has completed the process of recommending fund allocations to the Board of Trustees. A formal announcement will come at the end of April. To read a recent JournalNews article about the process, click here.

Lakota Local Schools is the first public school district to run a Pacesetter Campaign.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Lakota to show support of Butler County United Way," said Craig Baker, Director of Student Intervention, Lakota Local Schools. "It is exciting being a pacesetter."

The district's campaign begins May 1.
