Butler County United Way Gets Web Makeover

JournalNews :: 2.20.05 The Butler County United Way’s Web site has received a makeover.

Officials changed the Web site earlier this week so that it enables visitors to stay updated on community events and volunteer activities within the county.

“It’s easy for people to navigate, access and to communicate with diverse stakeholders,” said Maureen Noe, president and chief executive officer of Butler County United Way. “We’re trying to create a useful tool for our constituents so that they will be in touch.”

The Web site details the BCUW’s mission, lists agencies that receive funding for programs and opportunities to volunteer and make donations. Registration is also available to receive their monthly newsletter by e-mail.

Amanda Obringer, BCUW marketing and communications specialist, said revising the Web site took nearly three months to complete. “There’s a lot more content. There are community events and volunteer opportunities in the community,” she said.

In addition to the look and links, the Web site design has been tailored similar the national office’s Web site, United Way of America, Obringer said.

“We’re hoping to use it as a marketing tool,” she said. “To make sure, it has news and information links for people who donate or invest dollars with us.”
