Fairfield city manager to lead United Way campaign

JournalNews :: 2.9.05 — For the past five years, Art Pizzano has served with other city, business and community leaders to help improve social services for those who need it through the Butler County United Way. Now the Fairfield city manager will helm the agency’s 2005 campaign.

“It’s just to do something significant in a coordinated way,” he said. “This is an opportunity that enables us to think about all the people in Butler County, where people need necessary resources.”

Butler County United Way’s 2005 campaign will have its kickoff in September, officials said.

As campaign chairman, Pizzano will preside over the campaign cabinet and loaned executives, who help raise funds for the 50 programs of United Way partner agencies.

“Art and his leadership team have strategically positioned the city of Fairfield as a significant partner in the county, which offers value and results,” said Maureen Noe, Butler County United Way president and chief executive officer. “We are looking forward to his visionary leadership as the 2005 campaign chair to produce similar results within our United Way.”

As the nonprofit agency looks forward to the spring, projects are needed for the Spring Day of Caring. The Butler County United Way will host the event April 20 during National Volunteer Week.

The event includes volunteer projects from non-profit Butler County organizations. Projects can range from painting, yard work or serving food at a pantry.
