Ways to volunteer:

• You can check out Butler County United Way's new program that helps you find volunteer opportunities in the Butler County area tailored to your interests and availability! Click the Volunteers Making a Difference option to the left to find out more.
• Check your local newspaper periodically for volunteer opportunities. Butler County United Way continually releases dates and information of upcoming programs and events in need of volunteers.
• Give us a call! We will surely have an event or program coming up that could use your help. The daily operation and success of Butler County United Way relies heavily on community volunteers.

Volunteer Spotlight

Christine Birhanzl of the Red Cross, along with a handful of other volunteers spent Friday, December 21st traversing Butler County delivering Christmas trees to families in need. As part of the Butler County United Way and Target Share-A-Tree program, 6 fully decorated artificial trees were donated by the Fairfield Township and West Chester Target stores.

A notice was sent out regarding the available trees, and Butler County schools and social service agencies responded with names of families who otherwise would have gone without a Christmas tree this year.

Grace Marie Eckman found the experience to be very rewarding; "Not only did we deliver Christmas trees, we delivered happiness, joy and saw the true meaning of Christmas within each family."

A special "Thank You" goes out to Christine Birhanzl and her volunteers for committing so much time and effort to this special program. It truly was a great experience, and the families that recieved the trees will be able to enjoy them for many more Christmas holidays to come.
