2009-2010 BCUW Allocations Announced
In the current economic climate, there is little to celebrate when it comes to taking dollars and cents. This certainly rang true for partner agencies of the Butler County United Way (BCUW), who were at one time facing a 20% cut to programming across the board due to a $200,000 shortfall in campaign fundraising. But thanks to overwhelming support from community leaders, volunteers, donors, businesses, and partner agencies, 'Hope' triumphed. The Butler County United Way is pleased to announce that it will be allocating $1.5 million to 47 human services programs for the betterment of struggling Butler County residents.
Recognition and appreciation for this success goes to all who gave their time, money, and voice to BCUW during its annual campaign and again during the recent Campaign of Hope. In this two-month drive to fill the gap between agency requests and fundraising dollars, the community pulled together an astonishing $150,000. Because of the sacrifices made by all - including the BCUW - the best performing programs were able to receive a well-deserved 2% increase in funding.
