Butler County United Way Moves Towards Policy Governance

Butler County United Way ’s Board of Directors will begin implementing a new Policy Governance structure following a unanimous vote in February.

The vote comes one year after Butler County United Way ’s Board of Directors began studying the principals of policy governance.

“Policy governance will not result in a change in our community centered approach,” said Deb Crane, Butler County United Way Board Chair.  “This approach gives us the tools to move in a more strategic direction to addressing the needs in our community.”

Over the past six months, Butler County United Way ’s Board of Directors has been working on a new code of regulations as well as developing the ends policies.  In September 2007, the Board of Directors officially began running under the new policy governance guidelines.
