Community Grant Consortium

What is the Butler County Community Grant Consortium?

The Grant Consortium exists to increase the capacity of local non-profit organizations to impact their community.  Developed by the Butler County United Way, the consortium helps individuals think through their programs or projects, connect and collaborate with other like-minded non-profits, and establish a solid foundation for increasing future success.

As the name of the Grant Consortium implies, part of that assistance includes finding, writing, and submitting grant proposals to fund local programs or projects.  Instead of shuffling existing funds that are already distributed locally, a priority is placed on finding funding outside of Butler County in order to bring new resources into our community.  Over the last 10 years, the Grant Consortium has brought almost $13 million new dollars into Butler County.

How does the Butler County Community Grant Consortium work?

The work of the Consortium is directed by an advisory committee and fundraisers that consist of leaders from the Butler County Department of Job and Family Services, Butler County United Way, Butler Metropolitan Housing, City of Hamilton, Hamilton Community Foundation, Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati, and the Middletown Community Foundation.

Because of the contributions of these organizations, the Grant Consortium provides its services free of charge.  Similarly, no administrative costs for the consortium are written into the grants that are prepared and submitted.

If you are interested in any of these services, the Grant Consortium accepts applications for assistance year-round.  Any non-profit organization in Butler County is invited to apply.  You can download a copy of the application here.
