Campaign
|
For a period of time each year, the Butler County United Way launches into the community through our annual campaign. If you are unfamiliar with our campaign or want to know what it's all about, hopefully this page can answer some of your questions.
What is the campaign?
Butler County United Way's annual campaign is often seen by the public as a time when local businesses encourage their employees to donate to the United Way over the next year. While this is a critical part of our campaign coordinated by a large team of faithful volunteers, this is by no means the only part of campaign, nor is raising money at the heart of what our campaign is all about.
Our annual campaign tries to put Butler County United Way's message, mission, and goals into the forefront of people's minds. We exist to strengthen our community one person at a time (our vision) by connecting resources to important community needs (our mission). The annual campaign forwards our mission and vision in the following ways: |
|
Raising Awareness
As an organization dedicated to helping Butler County residents become self-sufficient and Butler County youth become successful, it's our job to have our finger on the pulse of the community. One goal of campaign is to share facts, trends, and personal stories of local households. Because it's difficult for every resident in a diverse area like Butler County to understand the various troubles that many local children and adults face, we want to paint a realistic picture of what life is like for those who are struggling to make it on their own. |

Sharing Results
Because Butler County United Way has been around for almost 90 years, we have a long track record of results. Not only do we want to tell you about the issues that exist in Butler County, but we want to tell you what we're doing about those issues. The community as a whole - especially those that give their time and money to United Way - deserve to know that their contributions are making a real difference in the lives of hurting people. Campaign is a great time for us to showcase both raw data and personal stories that accurately reflect our shared success.
Answering Questions
One thing we find whenever we engage the community is that people have questions. Some want to know exactly what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Others want to know how they can get involved and use their skills for the good of the community. There are also a great deal of misunderstandings about what kinds of programs we fund, our "agenda", and our relationships with other United Ways. These are all great questions that we encourage individuals to ask and that we love answering.
Offering Opportunities
Finally, our annual campaign is a time when Butler County United Way invites the community to join us in our mission to strengthen Butler County one person at a time. The United Way's mantra of "Give, Volunteer, Advocate" describes in a nutshell how people can participate. By becoming an advocate you can voice our cause at work, church, city council meetings, and PTA meetings. As a volunteer you can give your time, mind, and muscle to projects that forward our mission and the work of our partner agencies. By giving financially to Butler County United Way you can provide the help that local families need and allow us to continue making an impact in our community. |
